movie night is back!

Next up on Sunday, August 14, at 6:00pm will be "Miracles from Heaven."

  • Based on the memoir by Christy Beam, MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN follows the Beam family's experiences as middle daughter Anna (Kylie Rogers), a spunky 10-year-old, comes down with an untreatable, likely digestive disorder. Anna's mom, Christy (Jennifer Garner), is completely demoralized watching her little girl waste away, especially when even the best doctor in the country (Eugenio Derbez) can do little to slow the effects of her condition. But just when all seems lost, a terrible accident could actually be just the miracle the Beams have been waiting for. (from

Come and bring your family and friends! Enjoy some free movie nights on the big screens in the sanctuary at CCC!

Father's Day Boards

We also invite members to consider buying construction materials in honor of their fathers or other special "dads" in their lives this coming Father's Day, June 19. Habitat for Humanity and Central Christian have been partners together for many years, helping families build homes in Seymour and beyond. Each board costs $5. Sign up at the Welcome Center and place your donations in the offering plate or in the white office mailbox outside the Receptionist Desk.

Wedding anniversary Sunday

Every June we celebrate the anniversaries of couples who have been married for 50, 60, 65, and 70 years. This year we've seen–or will see–the 50th anniversaries of Jon & Jan Carlstrom, Jon & Lois Geuder, Denver & Wanda Gray, Wayne & Judy McDonald, Dan & Judy Stein. Celebrating their 60th anniversary this year are Paul & Sharon Personett. Rejoice with us on June 19th for God's faithfulness displayed in these marriages!

VBS 2016: Cave Quest

Cave Quest begins on Monday, July 18, at 9:00 in the morning, and finishes on Friday, July 22. All sessions begin at 9 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. Our kids always love singing energetic songs, playing wild and fun games, experiencing the Bible with hands-on activities and live dramas, even exploring what God has made with science experiments! And everything we do reinforces truths from God's Word: Jesus gives us hope, courage, direction, love, and His power when we let Him light up our world.

Child Dedication Services

Several families have welcomed new babies into their homes in the last few years. On Mother's Day (May 8) and Father's Day (June 19) we're taking the opportunity to dedicate these children to the Lord, to pray over them in our worship services, and to engage our congregation to commit to support their growth in faith. Celebrate with us the opportunity we have to begin these children's faith journey, and support these parents who are taking this important step of commitment!

daycare graduation (5/6, 6:30pm)

We are excited to celebrate 17 children graduating from our Daycare this school year! Please join us as we celebrate with them and their families on Friday, May 6 at 6:30 in the church sanctuary. We are so proud of each and every one of our graduates!

Southern Indiana Senior's Day (4/21)

First Christian Church of Scottsburg has an annual Senior's Day event every April! This year they're featuring Dr. Wayne E. Shaw as their guest speaker, with music by Curtis & The Boys and worship leader Meta Clark. John Lowry will be sharing his chalk art, and Dave Carol is bringing special music. Please RSVP with the church office if you're going – our Senior Day Out ministry will pay your admission fee! We leave from the Central Christian parking lot at 7:45 AM on Thursday, April 21st.

Semi-Annual Meeting of the congregation (4/10)

Immediately following our worship service on April 10th we will have a semi-annual meeting. There will be no adult Connection Groups or Sunday School classes this Sunday. This is the perfect time to learn what progress our church leadership is making on matters discussed in December, to raise questions about our path forward, and to be inspired by what God is doing and is bringing about at your church!

Missions Rummage Sale (4/8-9)

Our first semi-annual Missions Rummage Sale of 2016 starts at 1:00 on Friday, April 8! Start collecting items for the sale today, and bring them over to the church on Thursday, April 7, between 1-5 PM. If you have large items that need to be picked up, please call the church office (812-522-4211) to schedule a time. All proceeds directly support missions ministries of Central Christian Church. For more information on the organizations we support, visit our Serve page.

Easter Sunrise (7am)

Just as the women went to anoint Jesus as sun was breaking on the very first Easter morning, we at Central hold a special sunrise service to remember that Jesus has risen! He is alive! Come join us for a special service to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior! Breakfast will be available after the service in our Fellowship Hall from 7:45 to 8:30.

Easter Morning (9am)

Our biggest Sunday morning service of the year celebrates Jesus' victory over death – the day He rose from the dead! Join us for a service with baptisms, communion, special music, and the best message that we have to proclaim to all the world: Jesus is alive and lives today to save all who believe in Him. Our service will extend a little longer for all the extra celebration we're packing in!

Easter Egg Hunt (3/26)

Our Easter egg hunt begins at 1 o'clock on Saturday, March 26th. We begin in the sanctuary with songs and stories about what Jesus did for us on the cross. Then we move outside to hunt for Easter eggs on the church lawn! Children will be separated by ages to hunt in different sections for eggs – including a few eggs with special prizes! Any family is welcome to attend without any need to sign up. Come on out, and bring a friend!

maundy thursday Service (3/24)

On Maundy Thursday we remember the last evening Jesus shared with His disciples before His betrayal, death, burial … and resurrection. Our Worship Committee plans this unique service with our pastors, often weaving in elements of Jesus washing His disciples' feet, the first celebration of the Lord's Supper, and Jesus' commandment to love one another (John 13:34).  As our Journey to the Cross reaches its destination, we welcome you to join us in strengthening our love for one another and looking forward to Jesus' return in His coming kingdom.

Journey to the Cross Prayer Watch (3/25)

March 25, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The nine hours of Jesus' final suffering

Our Journey to the Cross Prayer Watch is a time for prayer and meditation as we observe Good Friday and the crucifixion of our Lord and Savior. Come as you are, stay as long as you like. This will be a time for personal prayer, meditation, and reflection on God's gift of love to you. Quiet music and prayer will be available. Complete your Journey to the Cross on Good Friday.

Enter His Courts

Enter His Courts has been an annual ministry at Central Christian for several years.  We usually host boys in 2nd through 4th grades in this fun, fast, introductory league to encourage their growth as basketball players and as followers of Jesus.  Each game begins with a half-court devotional led by our referees, and students, coaches, and parents all enjoy the games!  EHC takes place Saturday mornings at Central from 9-11, ending on February 20.

Love Banquet (2/14)

Central Christian is hosting its first ever Love Banquet on Sunday evening, February 14, at 5:30pm in the church Fellowship Hall.  Cost is $10 per person, forming tables of 4, 6, or 8.  The proceeds will benefit our youth group summer missions trip to Chicago with the Center for Student Ministries.  Please make your reservations at the Welcome Center, or email Robin Everhart.

Ash Wednesday (2/10)

Our Ash Wednesday service brings us into the Lenten season: a season to remember our sinfulness and mortality, our need for repentance, and our hope in Christ Jesus Who conquers death.  This year's Ash Wednesday service introduces our "Journey to the Cross," a weekly service element leading our hearts and our minds to Christ in humility and repentance, even in the face of suffering and death.
